Ken Owen

Director

Ken is a musician and Director of Musical Futures International, where the rollout of Musical Futures has been supported by the Victorian Government and The Department of Education and Training. 

Ken has worked in all levels of education and is passionate about the role informal learning can have for students. 

Working with the Musical Futures International core team of teachers and practitioners, Ken continues to provide teacher professional learning to Australian educators as well as heading up the development of new approaches and resources for teachers across Australia and Asia.

Ken also lectures in Musical Futures /informal learning approaches at Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music. 

Ian Harvey

Director

Ian  is one of two Directors of Musical Futures International which carries out contracts with Departments of Education in Australia and Asia as well as conducting workshops and conferences throughout the world.

Ian trained as a teacher but has spent most of his career working in and around the music industry, though has always maintained strong ties to music education. 

Ian was Executive Officer of the Australian Music Association from 2000- 2011, a member of the National Review of School Music Education  and the designer of Music Count Us In. 
​Ian  and Co-Director Ken Owen established Musical Futures Australia in 2010 following the successful pilot program run in Victorian and Queensland schools a year earlier.

Anna worked for over 20 years as a classroom music teacher, Advanced Skills Teacher, Head of Department and Head of Community Music teaching children aged from 4-18.

​Anna was a founder core team member of Musical Futures UK and n
ow works as a freelance music education consultant and Teacher of Music at St Andrews International School Bangkok, teaching children aged from 6-11.

As well as being a member of the core delivery team for Musical Futures International, working across Europe, Asia and Australia, Anna has supported the work of many organisations in the UK including Music Mark, Trinity College London, and The BBC as well as working regularly with Music Education Hubs.

​A
n experienced presenter, speaker and practical workshop leader, Anna delivers presentations, panels, keynotes and workshops across the world.
Steve is currently Head of Academic Music at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok. He focuses on developing innovative music programmes that are accessible to all students; integrating the learning approaches of popular musicians into the classroom.

Steve works with Musical Futures International on curriculum design and development; he is an engaging presenter, regularly leading workshops and presenting at conferences worldwide. 

​As an Apple Distinguished Educator, Steve provides hands-on training  digital pedagogy and strategy; advocating for the creative integration of technology in education. He is currently completing a Masters in Digital Education with the University of Edinburgh, recently creating #MFlearn19 a free online course for music educators.
