Following on from the success of The Big Gig Bangkok, we are pleased to be partnering with MTIIS to bring The Big Gig to Kuala Lumpur in September 2023.
The Big Gig 2023 is a two-day festival/conference that brings together a global community of teachers to shape the future of music education. Join us as we play, sing, compose, arrange, produce, scratch, rap and improvise our way through two days of practical workshops.

Dates: Friday September 15th and Saturday September 16th, 2023
Venue: Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur 16, Jln Kiara 3, Mont Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Timings: 9.00am to 4pm both days Cost: Two day fees £350 per teacher One day option (either Friday or Saturday) £200 per teacher Fee includes refreshment, lunches and a suite of over 50 classroom ready resources for you to take away. |
Accommodation
We recommend either One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya which is a taxi ride away from the school Hyatt House KL, Mont Kiara - this option is walking distance from school and is close to many shops and eateries. |

- Ideas to prepare your students for the challenges of iGCSE Music and beyond
- Explore current trends in Music Technology & production, such as sequencing, synthesis, sampling and using electronic devices as instruments that will directly assist in both the IB Music and A Level Music & Music Technology Courses
- Build a whole class band using fantastic interactive and comprehensive online resources that are suitable for all age groups
- Gather ideas for developing a contemporary and progressive curriculum that engages learners and prepares students to become 21st Century Musicians
- Get creative with music technology. Explore techniques for sampling, mixing and experience approaches to rap and hip hop
- Improve student (and teacher) confidence with improvising, soloing and composing through our tried and tested approaches to classroom workshopping
- Take away a huge collection of brand new online resources to support fun, engaging and creative music making in your school - no extra charge or subscription necessary, these are yours to keep
- Meet, socialise and network with teachers from around the world through making music together
