About the Big Gig...and why you should attend!
The Big Gig is built on practical workshop sessions utilising our flexible online resources. The Big Gig aims to support both primary and secondary teachers through curriculum planning and delivery. Session content includes:
The Big Gig is built on practical workshop sessions utilising our flexible online resources. The Big Gig aims to support both primary and secondary teachers through curriculum planning and delivery. Session content includes:
- Ideas to prepare your students for the challenges of iGCSE Music and beyond
- Explore current trends in Music Technology & production, such as sequencing, synthesis, sampling and using electronic devices as instruments that will directly assist in both the IB Music and A Level Music & Music Technology Courses
- Scaffolded warm -ups, games and Ideas to engage students of all ages with singing
- World premiere of the all-new whole of class approach (building and extending from the current Just Play resource). This new approach builds a whole class band using fantastic interactive and comprehensive online resources that are suitable for all age groups
- Gather ideas for developing a contemporary and progressive curriculum that engages learners and prepares students to become 21st Century Musicians
- Get creative with music technology. Explore techniques for sampling, mixing and experience approaches to rap and hip hop with our very own DJ Sizzle
- Improve student (and teacher) confidence with improvising, soloing and composing through our tried and tested approaches to classroom workshopping
- Take away a huge collection of brand new online resources to support fun, engaging and creative music making in your school - no extra charge or subscription necessary, these are yours to keep
- Meet, socialise and network with teachers from around the world through making music together and enjoying the great city of Bangkok

NEW Express Yourself - rap and hip hop program and resources for the classroom

More than the bouncing ball - using Musical Futures play alongs for better student outcomes
Student choice - informal learning and your curriculum
Music tech workshops - these include a remix challenge, 'Making Tracks' focusing on composing, improvising and songwriting using Soundtrap, Ableton and Garage Band

Attendees will take away a suite of over 50 resources that they can use in their classrooms. These resources include new units like Express Yourself, MF Junior and Play Now plus our new whole class approach and more.
These new resources means there are Musical Futures classroom resources available for teachers from K-10.

Networking and social
Of course there will be some social and networking time with drinks on Friday and a dinner on Saturday. More details to be added closer to the conference.
